Producing 40 Megawatts of solar electricity which will be enough to power 15,000 homes without taking up any precious land needed for preservation and development.
As America pivots away of renewable energy to help prop up the flailing coal industry, China has taken another prestigious global spot from America. China already has larger solar plants on land which are capable of producing more power and reaching evening millions more people and their homes.
China is energy hungry with even more factories requiring more power than the USA China is set on becoming a country that doesn’t rely on outside sources seeks to create more sustainable ways to create the energy it needs. Including massive wind farms and huge hydro electric dams, the dams I do not support too much in China as they do not take the surrounding environment into as much consideration as more developed countries try to achieve.
Might be fun to work here. You'd get to drive a boat.
China has over 100 cities with over a million people compared the USA with about 10. You can imagine how much electricity it needs to remain productive and progress. Dalian where I live in China has about 6,000,000 in the Greater Dalian Area and it’s only considered a medium sized city here. It's plenty big enough for me.
Dalian last year closed several coal fired power plants as it finally completed building a massive nuclular power plant on the out skirts of the city in cooperation with some American companies.
I wonder if the world is covered with enough solar panels will that negate the loss of the ice caps which help reflect the sun’s rays keeping the earth cooler. Solar panels are kind of reflective.
This is good news for China as it leaps forward into a sustainable energy powerhouse.

do you think floating solar panels affect sea life in any way? ie algae growth and necessary bacteria for a healthy ecosystem
thanks
Oh it must. Or at some point when significant parts of the ocean are blocking out the sun. I am all into algae and I think without it all life on earth would cease or at least not have become what it is today.
Alga will probably be what saves the world some day. Maybe not all humans but the world in general.
significant parts of the ocean are blocking out the sun how much would be significant? How many MILLIONS of square miles would that be?
A lot. I think to power London England you need to cover pretty much same amount of surface all all of England just for that city. Crazy.
40 mega watts (or was it 400) might seem like a lot..but small steamers pump out gigawatts.
solars great and im sure as a solarguy you know all about that
Smart. Solar is the future together with wind and other renewable forms.
Hope so that and biofuels.
yea I forgot biofuels :)
Visit my post of the energy solar.
Sure No problem I can follow you too.
Thanks, visit my other post. Thanks
can you link you feed is all resteems I scrolled down quite a bit I could find any post about solar poer.
Very interesting.
2/3 of the earth's surface is water...up till now it's 'just sitting there'...not much use.
I'm all for seasteading. This is a step in the right direction.
minor scolding. Don't believe anything your read about 'climate change' OR ' help prop up the failing coal industry'..that's bogus. Obama's reign of era made war on coal. Stopping the war doesn't mean 'propping up.'
I still don't like the taste of coal smoke in the air. I live too close to coal powered water heating plant.
I was heavy haul for decades. I hauled a LOT of scrubbers to coal fired power plants. When the exhaust from the burnt coal went thru those scrubbers...it was cleaned..
Wow... that's... HUGE!!! China's dominance is moving up.
It used to be a scary idea for me and many to think China being No.1 But they are doing what the past No.1 used to do and the past No.1 is now doing what China used to do.
Wild world.
Alright, this seems interesting! I appreciate these posts cos some day this technologies will make world a better place.
