My Alt Coin Pick List and Shit List

in #altcoin7 years ago

OK Peeps... We've seen some awesome movement in various alt coins as well as the main player/s in recent weeks.
So what's next?

Well there are some alt coins out there which I think are seriously under valued right now and I though since I was putting a list together for myself, I may as well share it.

Here's my list of currently undervalued crypto IMHO:

  • TenX (PAY) - WAY undervalued and should be 2 - 4 times the price
  • SALT (SALT) - My price target is $200... stupidly undervalued
  • EOS (EOS) - Y'all know my thoughts on this one, Buy and wait to be amazed when it hits $100, then HODL for the next big move, then repeat...
  • Monero (XMR) - Should be in line with Dash IMHO
  • OmiseGo (OMG) - Should be twice the price iMHO
  • Populous (PPT) - This has been on a good run but the use case is absolutely insane and the current price is around 20% of my price target
  • Bitshares (BTS) - I feel likely to migrate to EOS next year and possibly a place for institutional money. Well worth taking a small position in at this price
  • Basic Attention Token (BAT) - Great team with real experience solving real problems. Long term HODL IMHO and well worth a small position
  • CIVIC (CVC) - Sleeping giant IMHO. ID will be a key use of block chain tech and these guys have the start on the rest, great team, great contacts and some serious business nous
  • NEO (NEO) - Chinese government own circa 49% of this one. Nuff said ;-)
  • IOTA (IOTA) - Not a block chain but a tangle. Possibly the platform for the new internet of things. Very keen on this one although not sure on a price target at this stage
  • Token (TKN) - This one is a little more of a longer term bet for me. A competitor to TenX and certainly no where near where they are, Price is fair for where they're at currently but super cheap if they deliver on their road map to have cards issued early 2018. Good for a small HODL IMHO

There are almost 13,000 of these now with literally thousands in the pre-launch stages as we speak. Many will be worthless and some will make the grade.

As well as the above I'm HODLing the following as long term hedges against inflation:

  1. Bitcoin
  2. Litecoin
  3. Ethereum (yes I still think it will do ok post EOS, just wouldn't bet the farm on it right now)

Ones to keep away from IMHO:

  • Ripple - Token has no real value from use case as the main users of the network will be banks and they will NOT use the XRP token (they get access to use the system without using the token)
  • BitConnect - Ponzi Scheme
  • *Verge (XVG) - Team seems unorganised, aloof and they miss self imposed deadlines with nothing more than a whimper to their community
  • *PotCoin (POT) - This is a gimick coin IMHO and does nothing that Dash, Monero, TenX, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash etc. can't already do. Single use tokens like this being used as currency have no future IMHO.

Just my two cents guys, feel free to comment below on any sleeping giants you think I've missed or any other steaming turds to stay away from :-)

Nice article. It is good to get a feel for what others interested in cryptocurrency are thinking. I have noticed an uptick of interest in the SALT coin you mention just recently in other places also. Will have to try and learn more about it. I sort of hope Potcoin does well, though, long term. I bought a fairly small amount just to have a position in a somewhat intriguing concept but no plans to add to it...as you point out, other crypto coins could be used for the same purpose by those in the legal marijuana industry.

Thanks mate, I love a good spliff as much as the next person however I do feel this one has nothing to offer one of the other, more liquid crypto assets couldn't provide.

I have not looked into Potcoin. I read that Metal (MTL) has a link to the legal cannabis industry (among other un-banked industries). It is hard for growers to get financing so they are a target market for Metal. The coin has been beat up recently as well as many other alts. I nibbled at it a while back and have added some as the price went down. Just thought you may be interested.

JMHO, DYOR.

BTW: The links in my above post are not my own. I am not trying to hijack @simoncase post with my own. No disrespect intended.

I agree with most of your picks. Waiting for the CIVIC to wake up also. I like Qtum as well.
I would add SiaCoin to stay away from. Great project but the coin will have a hard time moving up in value due to constant dilution.
SALT looks interesting. I'll have to look into it.

SALT is going to KILL it in 2018. Soooo many people with a big bag of crypto whi wanbt to buy shiny things but not sell their crypto to get them. SALT is the solution to this as well as many potential negative tax outcomes of selling... BUY BUY BUY I say :-)

Awesome, thanks. Yes, 2017 was just the beginning for altcoins.

Nice picks.
Do you know why QTUM going up?
It is becausa D.Va, largest korean coin pumping group.
All the coins that D.Va picked, the price went up.
The coin NEO was frozen,so it started off as a minus ,
but ultimately price went up.
I will now only follow D.Va picks.
