It doesn't always mean that everyone from there is poor. As someone who was born in a third world country and one who has a passport filled with stamps from traveling the world. Its just as expensive as America if not more for those who live in capital cities of third world countries.
There are plenty of common people around the world.
The biggest challenge that Pi faces more than anything else is the ability for its users to acquire Pi after mining stops.
At that point people will literally have to work for it by working for businesses that can pay in Pi to those willing to work for it.
Without a great solution to that problem, Pi will rise out of scarcity. Not in total supply but supply to the average person. As if they keep spending but have no way to accumulate it will cause them to hoard it.
Many people only play scenarios of Pi now while everyone can earn it through Phase 1 and Phase 2. That way of earning will not last. Its designed to shutdown on Phase 3.
