Computers ( full form as - Commonly Operated Machine Particularly Used for Trade, Education and Research) are the most important devices in our day to day life. These most advanced gadgets of today's world is said to have evolved from a calculation device named 'Abacus' made by an English mechanical engineer Charles Babbage. Considered as the 'Father of Computers', he invented the Abacus in the early 19th century. But is that the truth ? Are these advanced devices truely an evolution of the Abacus?
The answer to all these questions is 'NO', although the Computers has a close relation with the Abacus but it is not completely the evolution of the Abacus.
The modern day computers have evolved from a decoding machine named 'Christopher' which was invented by an English mathematician Alan Turing. He named the machine after the name of his friend Christopher Morcom who had passed away after suffering from bovine tuberculosis. Christopher was made to break the messages encoded by Enigma during the World war period. It proved to be a very helpful asset for the US Army during the World War period. This truth was kept hidden and was revealed after many years of Turing's death.
