Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean, but I hate daily routines.
I rather wait every day to see what it brings, except for appointed meetings, which I also don't like.

Tomorrow for instance, I am called to go and pray for a great guy and his family at one of our partner charities. The staff is in a terrible condition as the guy was well loved and Marian will do counseling with them. The guy passed away yesterday morning from Covid and his wife also has Covid.

Then after that we musy go to have a look a look at a new cottage that came on sale and in the afternoon we are out to look at a used Yellow wood and Imbuya wood table that we need for the dining room.

No doubt in between all of this we expect other calls to come in for charity assistance.
So no day is the same and each day brings its own challenges.
That's what I enjoy. The challenges.

You know what I will say here 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Oh, and in between all of this, I even get time for photos 🤣

I need a kind of routine, I need to know how about the day will go. Little changes are no problem, but I don't like it when smething planned doesn't go as planned. It's different when I say there's no plan and I take it as it comes, like I did the other day. But I do prefer a more or less straight line when it comes to spend the day...

Good luck with the cottage and for the search for the dining room table.

That's what I often don't get: you're so busy and you still manage to calm down and take a relaxed walk and photos - that's cool, Zac.

Yes I agree as it is good to have your day mapped out and to allow for unexpected changes my friend.
I used to also do that during my working years, but now I take things as they come, as the charity world is totally different because of the many people involved.
There are more unexpected things in a day than plans, as a person has to remain open to any requests or eventualities.

For instance if I get a distress call right now, then we go out to help. We don't have working hours.

Those relaxed walks are what preserves my sanity my friend and I grab them whenever I can.
You should do the same, plus you have the bonus of a bike. Easy traveling for half an hour and then back to work.

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, I understand that very well, but in my job you need a structured day or better said I need it.

I can't easily leave my work and go for a ride, and if I did I would have to work that much longer ;)
At the moment I'm very tired and the week off was much to short. Maybe at th eend of September I'll take two weeks off and let these days happen as they come ... we'll see 😀

Oh no my friend, if you take 2 weeks off then you will get six short weeks in return. Sounds like you like to torture yourself 🤣

I meant to leave during your lunch hour, or don't you cops get lunchtimes?

Yes, you are right, as at formal work one does indeed need to have structured days, but I am lucky to be out of it for 20 years already. Your turn will come.

Cheers and thanks.

Haha, Zac, if that was the case I'd never take any time off anymore 🤣

Lunchtime is also work time here. We work 8 hours per day and the breaks and lunchtime is included in these 8 hours. I spend my lunchtime usually at my desk doing some Hiving or Twittering ... or I go outside for a little smalltalk with my colleagues, but most time I'm here.

I have so much to do at the moment that anything that comes inbetween slows me down, and when you are working on long lists for hours, it's annoying when some other important work suddenly lands on my desk.

Hahaha, only a tease my friend and you can grab as many as you can get 🤣

Lucky guy you are. In constuction I worked from 6am to 6pm and on weekends from 8am to 5pm.
Every second week off because we were paid fortnightly (ever 2nd week) and then I took my pay back back home for the wife and my 3 children.

I often didn't take lunch or tea times and ate only one meal at night. That's why I say that you are lucky. No hive or mobile phones at that time.

And they often expect you to do do the urgent stuff at once and yes, I agree as it does interrupt ones workflow.

Cheers and thanks.
