What is it?
Panagbenga is a month long festival that is all about flowers. The festival is held every year in Baguio City, Philippines on the month of February. The word “Panagbenga” means the “season of blooming.”
Schedule of Events and Things to Do
Usually it starts on February 1 with the Opening Parade on Session Road and Melvin Jones grounds. Expect elementary students to be on the parade with their drum and lyre.

The Parade and Street dancing competition which is held usually on the last weekend of February (Saturday). The venue for the parade is Session road. The competition is held at the Baguio Athletic Bowl. You have to choose one of event here because the streets and the athletic bowl is packed. As in packed! It’s hard to get to the athletic bowl if you are on Session road. If you really want to see the competition then I would suggest to go straight to The athletic bowl right in the morning and forget about watching the parade. By doing this, you will get a good spot and a chair to watch the competition.

The Grand Float Parade is held on the last weekend of February(Sunday). The venue is the same as the parade, Session Road until Melvin Jones grounds. The winner from the stree dancing competition will be featured on the parade so if you didn’t see the parade the day before, it’s a good time to watch. BEWARE! It will be more packed than the day before. If you thought it was packed ….well you were wrong. Colorful float will be featured along with famous actors and singers. Bring food and drinks so that if you get stuck in the middle of the crowd. You will not get hungry.

The Session Road in Bloom will be the best part. Why? Well, it’s all about food! Session road will be closed for food stalls to take over Session. Enjoy the night with music and food. I recommend to go during the day time if you don’t want to have too much people around you and walking around with you. Siksikan din po sa gabi! Event will last for about one (1) week.
The Closing Ceremonies is the last event of Panagbenga. Which is held on the first Sunday of March. Fireworks display will be seen on Burnham Park, SM Baguio and other spots. If you want an overview of the fireworks, I recommend watching from SM Baguio. It will be nice watching the beautiful colors.
Hope you got some information about Panagbenga. If you want to join the festival, make sure to get your accommodation early on before the month of February. Plan ahead and most importantly, Have Fun!
