According to the USA Today report on July 11, the KFC restaurant is located near Highway 14 in Eden, North Carolina, and the restaurant became ruin after the explosion. The local police station posted a photo of the restaurant wreck on Facebook, where the fragments were scattered.
Police Commissioner Wright said the explosion occurred around 0:35 am. Wright said that several restaurant staff smelled the gas when they were on duty, but there were no staff in the restaurant during the explosion and no one was injured.
“Thank God, everyone is safe,” Wright said.
According to reports, the police received calls from many residents who said that the explosion had shaken nearby houses. The police said that a natural gas company will go to the site to stress test the natural gas pipeline, and the local government will investigate the cause of the explosion.
