The more than 200 year old Rijksmuseum is the Dutch National Museum. Like many other museums, it is located at Museumsplatz (NL: Museumplein) in the district of Amsterdam Zuid. Its historical building alone makes it worth a visit. Inside, the Dutch (art) history from the Middle Ages to the 20th century is presented chronologically. Among the exhibits are, for example, paintings by Rembrandt and his pupils.
