Are you looking for change?
I’m not sure how long “New Years Resolutions” have been a thing but it seems to be a worldwide common tradition for mankind to crave change this time of year. If we weren’t already, we become unsettled in regards to the things we’re unhappy with, unable to ignore it.
Many anarchists around the world crave something different, a little freer. Just like there are pockets of tyranny there are pockets of freedom in this world. One of them is Detroit, Michigan which is the only place in the United States I truly miss. Another is Acapulco, Mexico.
When we came here three years ago on the run for cannabis crimes with no money to our name, it was with the intention of attempting to start a life, or at least survive while we figure out what our next move would be.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in few years, Acapulco is ripe with opportunity for those willing to work for it. It’s a great place for both young and old people and the locals here make it a treat to live here. Of all the places I’ve been in Mexico, Acapulco seems to have the most friendly entrepreneurial people I’ve encountered.
Anarchaforko is happening next February in Acapulco Bay, in an attempt to return the anarchists already here for Anarchapulco to the city of Acapulco. The main fork event dates are 22-24 at the Copacabana but there will be other events before and after at other locations within the main bay! Anarchapulco is held in a beautiful but totally isolated and expensive resort in the suburbs. It lacks the culture and liveliness found in Acapulco.
If you’re looking for change, consider becoming involved with Anarchaforko this year. How involved you become is up to you, you’re the organizers, make this thing your own!
