This post was inspired by a question, and a great one at that. It reminded me that so many people don’t understand what we are doing with @anarchaforko.
The question?
“What’s the difference?”
There are many and I admit I’ve not been good enough in getting the clear differences out there! Why should you pay us 250 USD to be involved with the fork? What’s the point?
As you can see by the image above, there are many. Anarchaforko was born in attempt to provide what we felt the Anarchapulco experience was missing, most importantly the freedom to sculpt your own experience!
For example one fundamental difference between Anarchapulco and Anarchaforko is the fact that everyone with a fork ticket has the capability to add events, speeches and workshops included. This is providing those who like to get things done the tools to do so, on their time and on their terms. The schedule of Anarchapulco (and just about every other conference out there) is determined by a smaller group of people, who talks when is decided not by the person speaking but by the ones organizing the event.
Not only can you add those events but when you do so they display immediately, so you can start promoting immediately. There’s no need for your event to be approved and only obvious spam will be removed from the calendar, which we don’t really expect to happen.
We both have affiliate marketing program but ours is different for two reasons: everyone with a ticket is an affiliate and affiliates make 50% of the purchase price of every ticket sold, not just ten like Anarchapulco offers. There is no application beyond getting yourself a ticket!
Three years ago Anarchapulco left Acapulco Bay for a nearby suburb, opting to try and provide the all inclusive experience at a beautiful but isolated and honestly expensive resort. The prices found within the Princess and that general area are in general much higher than those in Acapulco Bay, which often gives people the impression that Acapulco is just not as cheap as people say it is. Many people come here expecting urban Acapulco and are often somewhat disappointed by the suburbia they find at Anarchapulco!
Our goal is to provide something different in that regard so one of the few rules of the fork is to keep it in Acapulco Bay! For that reason, events in Pie de la Cuesta or Bonfil aren’t within fork boundaries. Before you start to feel restricted, remember that a whole city is a lot bigger than the resort Anarchapulco is held at!
We open up the bay in general because we want to encourage people to stimulate the local economy. Instead of making our own strip club in a city with strip clubs, I encourage someone to add a strip club adventure to the calendar, there for those that want it and an excellent way to experience something truly anarchistic in Acapulco.
Or throw a party somewhere in the bay, put it on the calendar and promote it! Have dinner at one of the hundreds of restaurants, have a kids day at the water park!
Anarchapulco is trying to provide everything in their experience and we are taking a different approach, to better facilitate your ability to take advantage of what’s already available locally instead of having it built in an isolated location.
And lastly @anarchaforko is just more affordable. Our ticket is half the cost and its easy to cover costs by selling tickets and getting your friends involved too. A note somewhat in response to the recent news of “credentials at Anarchapulco”, I can promise you there will be no ridiculous 300 dollar fees to replace credentials you shouldn’t need.
If you’ve got questions, reach out and ask! We love to talk about the fork!
