RE: The Anatomy of Warfare and Terrorism (or why They Kill)

How do you account for the impact of Sharia Law and those who adhere to the expansion of Islam through Sharia?

What happens when you combine Tribalism (of which I concur is one source of the current threats facing the West) with Sharia Law?

The pen is mightier than the gun.

But when the pen fails because your enemies only read one book, you had better understand how a firearm works.

Sort:

Isn't statism still statism by any name? Isn't self defense justified no matter what? I don't think Sterlin is saying that people shouldn't defend themselves.

I would hope so. But there's no shortage of people who view violence from Islam as an aberration as if Sharia isn't the blue print for all of it.

Jared is right. All I am saying is the tribal enginneering effects all cultures, and people are easily socialized into their death squads.

Well, before we go down the relativism path, I would ask that you identify any culture, society, religion, or any organized group that is killing on the scale of the Sharia adherents.

Death squads in Africa are very much based in tribalism, but that tends to stop once they cross their tribal borders.

Death squads in Mexico are in it for the greed and power of the drug trade. Tribalism is present in the recruiting stage for that realm, no doubt.

Islam and Sharia wholly transcend any borders. Tribalism merely acts as a fuel, whereas Sharia is the catalyst. Name a country in conflict, and theres a strong chance I can name a country nearby that has a growing population adhering to Sharia Law.

If only 0.1% of the global population of Islam is an adherent of 'expansionist Sharia', we're talking about 16m people. I would venture to guess that percentage is much higher.
