Very rarely in a life heroes do I see
Yet in this life Ron Paul was a hero to me
In congress he rattled quite a few
Understanding not the things he knew
He remained consistent going back in time
Not stepping on others in inglorious climb
Whether religious or not he had your back
Though that was a popular enemies attack
If you ever wondered what his mind was in
To ignore his oath he viewed a sin
Clutched to his chest was the Constitution
While the rest of Congress engaged in Prostitution
They were on sale for the best
Lobbyist, Bank, Corporation, or Wealthy
Ron Paul would not answer their jest
The media would ignore him while celebs would twerk
For this was the only tactic they had which would work
To say nothing good or bad
Was the only solution that they had
Down in the trenches some of us fought
All our Robert's Rules meant only naught
The entrenched and corrupt plutocracy
Did not engage in any form of democracy
Ron Paul taught me freedom and what it is to be free
Without what he taught me today I don't know where I would be
Thank you for honoring such a man
Today you sir have gained a fan
Agreed! RON PAUL FOREVER! https://steemit.com/ronpaulchallenge/@chuckypita/ron-paul-challenge-ronpaulchallenge-week1-entry-1-answer-the-question-of-the-week-week-1
One of the only few reasonable candidates. The media did a good job pretending he didn't even exist =/
Mind if I repost your poem?
Give me credit and it's fine.
