I agree with your sentiment. Ultimately, a free market in money would give rise to multiple different types of money and currency, none of which would be fractional reserve, fiat currency.
As for the "how", as indicated by the success stories linked above, I believe the Marc Stevens method for challenging jurisdiction is a great, effective method for damage control in situations where some bureaucrat is attempting to force you to pay them. The individuals in the No State Project have been very effective in using the Socratic method to get dismissals for people being attacked. Wider scale adoption of the Socratic method to challenge bureaucratic attacks would make plunder a whole hell of a lot more burdensome. It also has the added benefit of further exposing the courts as the shams they are.
