I am not sure that people don't care, otherwise why are we seeing such a polarization especially in the US? did you notice that democrats tend not to be friends to republicans? People obviously feel like they belong to a different "tribe" or faction, so they must care about it. The problem is that they are too lazy to do anything about getting informed and actively seek good information. We care about so many things but so often we don't do the things we should do. For example we all care about our own well being, so why are we all probably over weight?
