I, @ethanjames, WROTE THIS a while back and was going to Spit it over a hip-hop instrumental but I am yet to find a beat that is suitable. It's basically about the way the world is right now behind the veil, in regards to political regime, war, corporations etc.
We're on the stage of imperialism, caught in the system.
The truth will glisten but who will actually listen?
To the words that I'm spittin', so I'm on a mission.
To deliver wisdom throughout my own vision.
Most keep bitchin', too caught up in their livin'.
Too busy being trapped by their own mental prison.
So I'm switchin' towards the power of knowledge.
Started out like a novice but now I'm a prophet.
Most can't stop it, their minds made of porridge.
All the corporations out to only fill their wallets.
I won't change the topic these cats in it for the profit.
The way they pick your pockets is so catastrophic.
A coffin is where I'll be for speaking the truth.
As long as when I preach I be reachin' the youth.
Racism is what they're all teaching the troops.
To go kill a man told the same speech as you.
Disputes remain famous throughout the nations.
The fragrance of hatred is more than contagious.
In an age of enslavement, stuck in the matrix.
I pray for the patience to find our sacred oasis.
I find it outrageous the faceless stay nameless.
Even with the blood their hands still remain stainless.
It all seems so goddamn aimless.
But can we change it? I have faith kid.
All we consume is designed to suppress our minds.
So instead of being enlightened we're naturally blind.
Our third eye has been trapped in limbo for time.
Sometimes are we aware that we're living this lie?
We're all living a lie,
But are you living your life?
I will still be recording this at some point when I discover the appropriate beat for it. But until that stage I hope you enjoyed these words and if enough of you fellow Steeminions show love then I will have to make this an ongoing thing. Again, all lyrics are COMPLETELY ORIGINAL, written by @ethanjames and I intend to keep them that way.

For someone that grew up on hip-hop (real hip-hop) I'm very interested to hear how well these lyrics transition onto a track. Find that track my man, find that track. You can do it. Stop hesitating. The main things is the speed of the beat, find a speed that works and all sorts of options will open up. Make it happen capt'n! Look forward to it :-)
Thanks for the kind words. That's the trouble I'm having right now, just making the words fit to the beat. I feel humbled that you recognise my lyrics as real hip-hop haha. 100% trying to resurrect that age of rap. I'll try not to keep you guys waiting and find the perfect beat. Thanks again my friend.
KInda late reply here. It's really tough to get the words with the right beat/melody I think (and vice versa?). I wouldn't know cuz I've never done any lyrics yet or even a poem that matches 'perfectly'.
