you are quite right, it specifically targets people with little to no money and low income. A friend of mine was once in overdraft and it took him years to get out. Would only have taken months if not for all the charges. They do it on purpose. They crossed the wrong person when they did it to my sister though. She's a lawyer now but they tried to screw her over with overdraft fees she never should have been charged as a student. But instead of meekly rolling over and paying she wrote a bunch of letters to the bank's directors, the branch manager and threatened to send letters to every newspaper .. and casually mentioned fun little tidbits like how when she opened her account she could smell alcohol on the manager's breath etc etc.. I can't remember what else she said but she can cut a man's throat open with words alone. They cancelled the fees.
Banks used to be institutions of trust etc.. now they're just sleaze.
