The last true "revolution" in the USA was the revolutionary war. Fortunately, the Americans had access to the same weapons as the ruling British government. It was muskets vs. muskets or cannon vs. cannon. Today most protest groups can't readily acquire a tank or warship. When Boston experienced a terrorist bombing (very wrong!) , a full-fledged army suddenly appeared in Boston out of nowhere...militarized police (lots of them), using assault rifles, smoke grenades, armored personnel carriers, tanks -- the whole 9 yards. Today in the USA, there's a huge gap between the citizens' views of acceptable, constitutional behavior around the country and the behavior of police gangs. How do we cause change when "they" have all the weapons?
