A friend of mine gave me this land. My friend was a real hippie. He had been a focalizer for the Rainbow Gathering long ago. He had struggled all his life. His parents had "dropped him off" by the side of the road when he was 15 and he had had to "figure it out": which he did. He collected people like me. One day Saguache County, CO had a tax sale and sold off a bunch of their property for el cheapo, and he bought a bunch, and gave me some.

Conscious Resistance. It is desert with a giant aquafir underneath and a hot-water aquafir under that. People live there off the grid. I was just inspired to mention this because I was reading @dbroze articles and watching his videos. He is doing a tour this summer around the country - via the

So I have this land - it's only 4 acres but so what? I think a Freedom Cell of 8 people could make that work. There is water and a way to grow food and with the money or the means to dig to the hot water - there is free heat forever plus HOT SPRINGS.

I am not moving there by myself. I am too old and a city chick - so definitely looking for people who are interested.

Awesome. upvoted and Resteemed.

That's cool and a great friend. =)

Yes he was a great friend @bitdollar. He was a real hippie - a former focalizer from the Rainbow gathering - he saw me and new I am a misfit and living in Denver home of the NWO - he just worried I would end up on the street - the land came up for sale as a tax sale by the county (Saguache) and it was about $350 for these lots - so he bought a bunch and gave some to his most misfit friends... he passed away from cancer in January.

This looks beautiful ! It truly is only a matter of time before we bring everyone into the future of sustainability! I hope you find the right people willing to appreciate the miracle that's right under your feet 🙏🏼😅

thank you @chrism7 - It just occurred to me I might find them on Steemit... I have tried "off-grid.net", Craigslist, and other places - no one yet ...

It's very very tough to find and connect with the right Audience no matter what platform you use, but I'm sure you will before you know it ! You seem to be covering all the bases, I'd for sure stay focused on social media. It's only a matter of time 🙏🏼 much love and good luck to you, I'd be there in a second if the economy was kind to me 😅😅😅

Left Boulder, lived in our van for the last year looking for land, now heading back to Colorado. Maybe we should meet up. I've got a good community of friends interested in permaculture and off grid living like myself. If nothing else it'd be cool to share our stories. The San Luis Valley gets very hot and very cold but building an oasis is doable.

YES!!! when will you get here? you can email me directly at arteest at g m x dot com - I read your intro - will you be back for JRAD at Red Rocks Aug 30? Don't worry about steemit - most people on here are awesome - there were a few wack jobs - but such is life anywhere... anyway keep in touch - send me an email...this could work... I am in Denver.

I should be back at the beginning of August and I'm dying to see JRAD again! I'll send you an email! Psyched to connect!

coooooollll!!! Yea JRAD on the Rocks!!! got your email.

Nice! Excited to get back to Colorado. I miss it!

My friend and I were looking into land in the San Luis valley last winter. We found out that the county changed the zoning laws to made it more difficult for people to just get a piece of land there and move out there in a camper and just live there without improving the property. The zoning laws there are something you should check out before you decide what you want to do with the property. Just a heads up.

@amberyooper in Saguache County there are zillions of folks living off the grid - on my property Mineral Hotsprings Estates - and in Crestone - on the Baca Ranch - there are land grants - this is where the first earth ships were built - it's a whole "thing" - there. There is prob still land there cheap - in Moffat or Villa Grove. Also, I have a friend who lives in Park County off the grid - there are 100s of people living off the grid there - with no problem - I know maybe it was Del Norte county or something although I helped build an off grid house there as well -

Yeah, I'm not sure which county it was that was trying to get rid of the off gridders. I don't remember the details now, I'd have to see if I could find the information again.

you don't have to - I think it was custer county or something starting with a "c". I saw the article. there are too many peeps living off grid in our county - it's the poorest cty in co. People ARE starting to grow a little weed up there though I think.

I have to wonder how well weed would grow at that altitude. It might be fine, I don't really know. If I remember, they grow potatoes and quinoa up there. Quinoa is supposed to grow the best at higher altitudes, being originally a South American plateau grain crop.

it grows fine. They grow it in greenhouses. I personally am not going to grow it but I might lease some of my land to others who want to grow it there...
