From what I’ve come to understand about Steemit and its users, this is an enlightened and free, decentralized community. Just from the way that I’ve stumbled upon this platform, I am postulating that many others have come across Steemit from an acute awareness of whats going on in the world with a solution-oriented attitude.
I’m not just blowing hot air up your butts either. If you just visit the home page and take a look at the trending posts. Surely, you will see a trend that is completely unlike other social media platforms like Facebook or IG. I could could get lost for hours in the sheer amount of AMAZING and valuable user-created content and articles that are found here!
Steemians (Steemites, Steemers, Steemboat Willy’s (?) etc. etc.) are generally seekers of knowledge and have initiative to share and add their own spice to the pot! You guys already know the deal, we get rewarded more handsomely as we become known for producing quality content! With this meaningful incentive system (unlike meaningless “likes” or “hearts” on other platforms,) good information and REAL VALUE is a hot commodity. Self-Interest is part of what makes this community of individuals excellent. People know that they will be rewarded for their efforts in DOING, CREATING and SHARING THEIR BEST!
I think we can learn from history (if not from ourselves) that economies do better when the opportunities to advance in a free market, is left alone to blossom naturally! What many statists refuse to admit is that we produce value out of the self interest (ahhh dirty word lol) to enrich our lives BY enriching the lives of others! This is a WIN-WIN, providing there exits no platform of control (government) that can be exploited by bad people. True capitalism is the free exchange of ideas, products, goods and services without any coercion. We are all free and sovereign people on this planet that wish to transact with each other in a peaceful and harmonies way. No one can legitimately force another to purchase a product. It must be voluntary.
Folks, capitalism has been completely misconstrued and misunderstood by the general public, especially by the millennial (MY) generation. There are communist governments but by definition, there can never exist a “capitalist-government” as many erroneously ascribe to the US. What takes place here is the hell-spawn of an unholy union between capitalism and government, Corporate Cronyism. This is what develops when crooked, elitist capitalists (corporatists) have a government platform that they can buy influence from for their own interests (Note: This cluster-#$@$ of a scenario is in fact a tenet of Fascism, not true free-market capitalism!) As we explored previously, capitalism is comprised of individuals and businesses that voluntarily exchange goods and services for profits with each other. It's voluntary! The State is ALWAYS a monopoly on force which coerces its citizens to purchase its products and services at the gunpoint and under threat of imprisonment.
Governments are the antithesis of capitalism.
The next time you see a leftist-statist type going on about the “evils of capitalism,” I challenge you to question their understanding of what capitalism actually is. Be respectful and simply ask them question that will make their paradigm fall to pieces because it is based around fallacy. Freedom means that people have liberty to congregate and exchange the products of their labor with one another without being restricted, regulated or controlled by a governmental body. Simple logic will be lost on most, but if we can help educate (even with a conversion rate of 1/10 statists) about what true liberty is, than we have done our duty.
Consider this my fellow sovereigns…
If you are in the possession of knowledge that can help liberate humanity in the aggregate, then that places YOU in a position of Moral Obligation to spread the truth and dispel mis-info, dis-info, BS and just pure nonsense! In and age of apathy and ignorance, your brains and courage are needed more than ever to fight this battle!

Good post and resteemed. I do have my concerns about the future of steemit though. What we use at the moment is the beta, and the community is very small. I think steemit has the potential to turn into a real shitshow the larger it gets, unless Steemit takes some effective preventitive measures to deal with the potential of automated bots and scripts to game the system. Reddit has a problem with this, but reddit doesn't pay people real money, so who knows what's in store for steemit. Hopefully, your vision for what steemit is and what it could be is maintained.

Dang this post is so good. I kind of wonder about linking a centralized platform i.e.: google/YouTube/ig to a decentralized platform like this. Who really benefits?!

Thanks for your post. I too think that Steem is especially AnCapish (Trademark reserved, haha) which drove me here.
But my experience with riding the "This ain't real capitalism at work" with left, rights and what nots here in Germany left me quite frustrated.
I assume a whopping conversion rate of 0.5%.
For example, everyone is angry about the high taxing of everything.
Goes down like this:
-"Well, look at this I spent so much on taxes and they still want that GEZ money from me."[1]
"Yeah taxes are really evil. Just imagine if you were treating your customers like that."
-"But I understand the neccessity of taxation. It's for the greater good and stuff."
"Well, just because they say it's for the greater good, take a look at the BER airport for example, doesn't mean it's not extortion." [2]
-"Whaddya mean extortion?"
"If you don't pay the taxes they will come to your house and put you in a cage. Sounds like extortion."
-"Eh noooo. What are you talking about? I'm free to pay my taxes or else I can leave. No problem."
"So, if your customers say I don't like your service, I revoke my contract you go ahead and put them in your basement?"
-"No are you insane?"
"But that's what taxes are. Pay up or we'll burn your shop down."
-"Oh and who will protect you/ Build roads / do other menial stuff......."
And on, and on, and on. But I'll hold up. You do the same. Peace love anarchy my friend. Upvoted and following you :)
[1] GEZ: In Germany you have to pay for the public programming (TV, Radio, Internet streaming of public content) just because you have a permanent adress.
[2] The BER Airport is a engineering catastrophy which should have been open since 2015 (I think) and costs multiple billion euros. Kindly provided by the extorted. Opening date? Postponed till infinity.
