You think the Venezuelan economy is comparable to the Canadian economy in terms of organization? I agree the US sanctions did them no favors, but it was more like pouring gas on a burning building than anything else. And while Canada is pretty socialized, their price fixing and regulatory capture pales in comparison to what Venezuela practices, or at least from what I can tell having lived in neither country.

I am only pointing out that the Venezuelan economy did not collapse to its current state just "because socialism." Obama's executive order choked the country. Right after it was issued the drastic failures began, and the MSM began shouting about the evils of socialism, without even mentioning the sanctions as a partial (if not major) culprit.
