RELEASING PAST EXPERIENCES

Astrologically, this year appears to be a year of resolution for long-term problems, the finishing of on-going disputes and, altogether, a time of readjustments. Because it is the Year of the Dog in Chinese Astrology, it can also be a year of reasonable, cooperative and patient negotiation between people and nations.
This is a time when many of us are in the process of letting go of past relationships, people who have passed over to the other side, as well as failed dreams and projects. Yes, we are stepping into the future, but we must also let go of the past because, in the words of the ancient teachers: “luck is our ability to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to us”. By releasing our life-force caught in past experiences, we are more readily able to use those opportunities in full measure. Towards that process, I offer this exercise:
Clearly envision what or who you wish to release (if there are multiple issues or people, repeat this exercise for each of them individually). By envisioning them you bring into your inner vision a silver cord, extending out from the area of your navel, that is attached to that which needs releasing. Take your mental scissors and cut that cord. As you watch the silver cord dissolve, release them (if applicable), give thanks for the experiences and lessons learned from and associated with that which you are releasing. Reaffirm your love of yourself for having had those experiences and finish the exercise by sealing, with your hands, the opening where the silver cord emerged. Simply passing your hands over your naval, while envisioning it sealing, you will have enacted that process.
Releasing events and people from the past and forgiving yourself and others opens the door for fresh opportunities to bring a rosy future into reality. The manifesting of abundance requires the understanding of the rules that are in effect and the qualification that is necessary. The primary rule is that we should clearly visualize that which we desire to manifest, its effect on everyone involved and that it is a win-win outcome. The qualification is that we must believe that we deserve what we want to manifest and that we are worthy of receiving it.
