Rooting an Android (benefits and debunking)

I came across many articles that say DON'T root androids! Its dangerous! It lets hackers hack your phone!!!
I want to set the record straight on allot of these bogus claims.
First things first Rooting an Android is nothing more then allowing administrative control over the phone..in other words its the equivalent of logging into a windows machine as an administrator, A mac as an admin, or a Linux user as (well root)..Yet most of us use these type of accounts on our personal computers everyday. Of course yes theres always the risk of getting a virus on windows when your logged into as an admin and yet...we still do it. I would argue to say rooting a android is less risky then running a PC as an admin because there are a far greater number of viruses made for windows.
Now rooting itself will by default do nothing to your device...You know how you get a prompt on windows saying a program is asking you for administrative privileges? Well you get that same prompt on android with SuperSU or any root manager unless you shut it off asking for root privileges...And unless you grant them a program cant take over your phone and spy on your mother, if you do research on apps you allow root permission to then you have little to be concerned about. Now some concern might be the way you root your phone in the first place. A while ago there was a program called "Kingoroot" It still exists today but when they first launched they were notorius for adding chinese malware to your phone..but again some research would have prevented you from ever getting infected and most root methods out there are safe.
So why root?
Well there are many reasons people choose to root their phones, I can only speak for myself.

  1. DeBloat (credit tozenulife.com )
For starters when you buy a phone its loaded with crap from the manufucturer that clutters space and runs in the background like
"Samsung books" "Tmobile TV" "google magazine" to name a few..and while on modern phones you can now disable some of these apps you can never truly get rid of them...Well Unless your rooted...If your rooted you can head over to the google play store and download "root uninstaller" Or a similar app that will get rid of that unwanted Bloatware!

  2. Speed up your phone/improve battery life! (credit to appszoom.com )
Another reason to root your phone is that you can speed it up, or improve battery life by over/underclocking your processor...While this might not be safe if you don't know what your doing, it could be very helpful if you do.
And if you dont you can get an app called "L Speed" Choose if you want performance or battery life and it will apply correct settings for you.

3.Blocking ads (credit imgflip.com)
This one is controversial, many developers rely on ads to provide you free content, and I am not suggesting you block all ads though yes its possible. But some developers abuse this add income so much that perfectly good apps are ruined by constant popup, video, push ads, etc. You might not even be using the app but still be getting ads from it...Rather then uninstalling and wasting a good app rooting will allow you to block those extremely intrusive ads both on the web and in apps, and if you use lucky patcher (which i know is controversial itself) You can block ads on certain apps only while leaving them on others.

4.Custom Roms (credit viraltecho.com)

While there are much more benefits of rooting, I will make this my last, as it is personally my favorite.
If you have an older, outdated phone, your manufacture might have stopped pushing new updates for it and the only way you'll get to try out that new Android Naught is to dish out an extra 800 bucks for that new note 8..UNLESS YOU ROOT
Yea thats right...because Devolopers out there for the sheer joy and love of devoloping (And some donations if you donate) bring absoulutly free, fully functional, newest android systems to old outdated phones...I even had marshmellow on the Galaxy S1 before and currently am running Naght on my Note 4 (from 2014) soon I'll probably flash Oreo too.
Not only do you get the newest android systems, but you also get them already debloted, and with features the originals wont have for years or ever! Not to mention in general these systems work 9/10 times better then the original too, with a custom kernel made specifically for your phone.

Now its important to note...(and i said it earlier) Rooting by itself does nothing...That means that even all these benefits I mentioned you wont get by ONLY rooting. When your done rooting your phone it will look, and function, exactly how it always did before, but the difference is now you have full control and power over all your settings and the possibilities of what you can do are limitless! So don't let articles claiming that "Hackers want you to root to steal your information and spy on your children (credit memecrunch.com/20th century fox/matt groening)

Scare you from rooting your phone
