Lions are known for their complex social structure, living in groups called herds. In herds, females usually outnumber males, and males are recognizable by their impressive manes, which can vary in color and density depending on the individual. The mane gives them a majestic appearance and is often considered a symbol of virility and dominance.

Although lionesses are the main hunters in the pride, male lions play a crucial role in protecting their territory and offspring. They possess considerable physical strength, and their mighty jaws are capable of taking down large prey such as zebras, buffalo and gazelles. Thanks to their powerful and distinctive vocal communication system, lions can call out to pack members and establish a strong social bond.
