Each animal has a different average age. The female dragonflies live less than 5 minutes so that for the animal, life only marries and lays eggs.
But a number of other animals in this world have "grace" longevity, even up to thousands of years.
Journal of Aging Research Reviews noted sponges or porous animals of Monorhaphis chuni type can live up to 11,000 years. Research reveals that during his life, sponges can grow up to 3 meters long. The study also revealed that the average sponge lived from hundreds to thousands of years.
In addition to sponges, other long-lived animals are quahog mussels. Researchers once encountered quahog mussels that died at the age of 507 years. Meanwhile, humpback whales are recorded as the longest-lived mammal with a life expectancy of up to 200 years.
What about long-lived animals on land? Currently the oldest land animal record is held by Jonathan, the 183-year-old Aldabra giant turtle who lives in the courtyard of the governor's house on St. John's. Helena, West Africa.
Next there is, Wisdom, Albatross bird 65 years old. Uniquely Wisdom still laying eggs and raising healthy birds. Big birds like Albatros tend to live longer, so they are late adults and breed less often than small birds.
"Small, average birds can live up to five years in the wild, which is why they have to reproduce as much as possible," said John Klicka, head of the Burke Seattle Museum.
