A woman I know puts out food and water on her porch for hungry and tasty dogs, cats, and birds. Lately some bee have come too. The bees eat the cat food, and watching the scene, I became curious.
"Do the dogs, cats, birds, and bees all eat together?" I asked.
"Not really," the woman said. "sometimes the dogs eat on the porch, but other time they eat in the backyard."
"What about the bees and the cats?" I asked, wanting to know if the two ate together or if they took turns.
The woman explained that while the cats ate, the bees buzzed around the cats without stinging them.
One day there was a television news report on swarms of killer bees that had entered the area. They were reported to eat meat and to attack anything. It dawn on her why this bees on her porch that looked so strange liked to eat cat food.
The creatures knew that the woman's heart was filled with love and that she had put the food out for them. She never got stung, nor did the cats or dogs or birds. Every morning they all wait outside her window to be fed.
The bees are buzzing around. The birds are noisily chirping, cats are meowing, and dogs whining and barking in harmony. She is protected because of the love that is coming through her. This is the kind of love that give you protection when you go out into life
When you give to life, life gives back in a million fold. Animals are souls too, and they respond to love much as we humans do.
