RE: AnimalMomentium #3 - The Lucky systems we live with

Happy salutations @lordnigel,

Deepest apologies for my tardy response to a very complicated story and set of challenges, i could blame work but i might get fired. So ill just blame NETFLIX for when your so tired and all you can do is flop in front of the TV like a wet sock, begging for oblivion ;)

Let me begin by saying that elephants are some of the most amazing creatures on planet earth. Its not favoritism but sheer amazement and admiration. A lot of times i must confess i get consumed by rage at how they are either mistreated in human encounters or at the mercy of poachers for their ivory.

https://www.elephantartgallery.com/posts/all-about-elephants-facts-and-figures/

This particular quote stood out to me from this website;

'Tourists will often find baby elephants at resorts and entertainment complexes where they are used as showpieces. A baby elephant is totally dependent on its mother for at least four years – in fact weaning takes place for ten years in normal conditions – and if it is taken away sooner it will not learn how to cope by itself, will suffer from malnutrition, loneliness, stress and disease and will inevitably die young.'

I notice on many social mediums that the rapid expansion of human settlements and agriculture vs the always large areas of elephant habitation are coming into closer and more dangerous conflict each year. the elephants often range far from their protective reserves and at times can and will do extensive damage to surrounding villagers and their vital crop yields. A balance may be hard to find in these tense times, but if the elephant becomes extinct and its only humans left on the planet, a sad resolution that would be it goes well without saying.

I heard a quote on the news (always to be questioned) claiming there are as of 2018 more than 7 BILLION humans on Earth, with that number reported to climb to at least 10 BILLION by 2050. This number will probably increase unless some cataclysmic event befalls the planet before then.

In response to both your questions buddy, there is no avoiding the lie to lucky OR the child. As we discussed the reality or concept of reality is only what we can determine from the 5 basic senses. In fact we actually have two more senses not often referred to which is the Vestibular (relation to gravity) & Proprioception (the sense of our body parts and how we intend to move them.)

It seems like a trick question in a way, because even if we could make them understand what we in the challenge are trying to say, we are teaching them something that was taught to us by System levels 2 AND 3 in the table you created. The more we convince them through whatever medium (speech-mime) etc we are just expanding on a lie that we ourselves believe through delegated trust.

Its really a paradox, whether it is a lie or not, we are not really capable of determining the truth or deception component of the information we are passing on.

It would be truth, lie, reality and unreality based upon how we have been programmed through the systems you have outlined. How can any one person identify a layer of reality, without another system to hold it up to a completely different light.

Here's a thought to leave on - a belief has been documented that in some cases activists tracking elephants in a coastal region on the coast of Sri Lanka believe they were actually trying (or actually doing) a form of vibration to communicate with a passing group of blue whales off-shore. Now imagine that, what if Elephants could communicate with whales?

There's a whole new concept of reality right there!!!

Picture of my mind being blown

Hey buddy,

How fantastic that the largest walking animal on earth (elephant) is able to communicate with the largest swimming animal on earth (Whale).

You are correct. The whole point of the questions are to simply open steemians minds to the possibility that they might be wrong in the way they think and not even know it.

Now that's a pretty hard pill to swallow..

I think ethically/morally we feel a particular way about animals/plants...well anything based on our value set. It's good to have values and stand up for them...but sometimes, we need to hit the reset button and think about where we learned them from? and even question them if necessary to be sure we are standing up for the right things. For instance allot of people think global warming is a myth...even though their own sensors tell them it's not, why? because a level 3 system is in play...it's just something to get peoples minds to open up :)

Just out of interest, many animals communicate with each other, normally in a healthy way that works to keep the balance in nature. What they can't do though is string together sentences or put together stories (well... as far as a level 3 system tells us hehe). There are also many fascinating symbiotic relationships between animal/animal, plant/animal where they work in cooperation to co-exist in a better state then they could if they didn't work together. These things all happen between natural things with out language and communication in the way we know it, i.e. no spoken or written words. I'd like to explore these more in further posts and how humanity could improve our balance with nature in similar ways....

Anyways over to you mate - post the next when your ready :)

Cheers
