Hi Steemians,
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a nice and slightly busy weekend with Miss 6 attending a birthday party yesterday. It was the first school birthday party for the year and the kids had a great time seeing each other outside of school. It was also a good chance for me to get to know some of the parents of the kids too, considering that we will be seeing each other at school drop-offs/pick-ups for the rest of the year. Today, we were out all day, meeting up once again with visitors from overseas who will be returning home soon, so it was nice to see them one more time before they left.
Weekends just go by too quickly! 😣
Anyway, so my post for today will be my entry for @juliank's #animalphotography contest for tomorrow. If you would like more information on the rules of the contest, please click here.
This is a photo of two Asian elephants, who I believe are a mother and her calf. These elephants are from Sydney's Taronga Zoo. This photo was taken back in October when we visited the zoo with the kids. We stayed at the elephant enclosure for 5-10 minutes watching several elephants walkabout. It was adorable seeing the mother mind her calf, who just like a human baby, was enjoying splattering around in the water and clumsily tumbling around, with the mother's watchful eye closely following her/his movements.
The kids love visiting the zoo and after its recent upgrades (e.g. one being the new Sumatran tiger enclosure), the kids were even more excited to see new exhibits. Talking about the zoo, it's definitely time for another visit very soon!
I hope you enjoyed reading my post today, for more exciting posts, please follow me 😄
