A Night In With Toby
For the past two days I've been fighting a wicked cold. A ridiculous headache, sore throat, cough and congestion. Must've had too much fun on New Years... Tonight calls for a night in. I'll be staying close to the couch and going to sleep fairly soon. Luckily I have my little pal Toby to accompany me. He's our miniature dachshund friend. Normally he's not the most photogenic of dogs due to his abnormally long snout, but in these photos he looks extra snuggly.
Toby has what's known as 'Wild Boar Markings' due to the speckles on his head and across his body. Personally, I think it makes him look like Bambi or a little baby deer. Some say it looks like he's wearing black eye-liner at times. Believe it or not, this little guy will be 11 years old in May! He's already in the double digits but continues to look like a puppy. Most of the time he's either sleeping or barking. And that's how he earned himself the nickname 'Barkley'. He's certainly a silly little pup and I'm sure he's glad to be on the blockchain.

Nothing better than having a dog accompany next to the blanket when it's cold outside and if you are not feeling well. Dogs are amazing animals indeed and it wouldn't surprise me if dog owners are more healthy due to the joy then bring . Hope you feel better soon buddy !
I appreciate the well wishes my friend. Dogs really are the best! I used to have a big chocolate labrador, now I have a tiny miniature dachshund... They are both so different yet so great in their own way. I'll have a dog forever.
