Nice photo and nice poetry. Can't wait for summer when our White pelicans return. We have to go to the coast this time of year to see Brown pelicans.

I forgot to ask at the aviary why these pelicans hang out there all year instead of migrating. My theory is that they are rescues, but it is weird that they seem to be in full mating plumage and beak ornament so early in the year.
You get Brown Pelicans that far north in the winter?
