I took these lizard photos over the last two days here in my backyard. I've mentioned before that we are lucky to have many species of snakes and lizards that frequent our property. These ones belong to the family Agamidae, also know as Dragon lizards. More precisely, the species shown here is known as the Mountain Dragon, Rankinia diemensis.
The photos were taken with a Canon 7D and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens.

The individual in the next two photos was basking in the sun but was also catching the spray from my garden sprinkler. It was quite a hot day so I imagine it was trying to regulate it's temperature a bit. I was tempted to do the same :-)
