The Australian Bobtail
This is a Tiliqua rugos, it is a actually very common little dinosaur in Western Australia. Still, I find it is a fascinating animal.
Their diet consists of plants, fruits, snails or smaller Insects.
Their appearance is quite amusing. The large short Tail and the small legs (reminds me of my Dog) doesn’t make it easy to run away. Their tactic is to scare and confuse their enemies.
If they feel threatened they will open their mouth and stick their tongue out.
Yes, they will bite you if you put your finger in the mouth and it does hurt a bit.
About their tail, it is actually used for 2 things, besides being a tale.
First to confuse an alleged attacker. As a predator usually would first go for the head. That buys the it some time to escape. Secondly is the tail used as fat storage for dry Periods.
Unfortunately, and mainly because of their lazinesses, they get rolled over by cars a lot.
I hope this one here is still alive.
Thanks for reading.
Hopefully I will be able to post more and better animal series soon.
