This was a pleasant surprise to find in the garden!
Yesterday I was hard at work getting some plants transplanted into our new garden site. While making a raised strawberry bed out of some rocks, I happened upon this beautiful little lizard. I'm happy to have little garden helpers like this running around since they are part of my organic past control posse!
Today there are just a few photos, because it was so quick. I could have recaptured it a few times and taken many more photos, but I had work to do and it seemed like it had other things to do itself, so I just let it leave and went back to work. Here are the few that I did get. Enjoy!

Aquí presento a Manzanita.

We called this monitor lizard in Nigeria.
Wow, amazing post @papa-pepper, thanks for sharing
Cautious prof, this animal is venomous.
Waooooo so colorful and beautiful. I guess it's there season over there.
He looks real classy :) Is he the dude in the garden?
Yes he is!
In my country, they hardly love to see this lizard. They have this wrong superstitious belief that's not a good animal. It got beautiful color
That is unfortunate. I really like them!
Lizards are not my favorites!!!! And I have never spent some time to appreciate them even. This makes me different from you!! I am a student learning zoology. But yet I don't find it is useful to appreciate such animals even though I know their role in this eco system. So in that case you are a great one!!!!! You appreciate most of the animals even without knowing much more things about their evolution and biochem. That makes you great and a a very good student of mother nature!!!!!! Keep it up!!!!
-cheers-
Reptiles are scary to me. I don't know if I would be able to stand and take a picture of it as there are many superstitions that come with the animal here.
Nice photography!!!
Oh my! We also have that one in our garden! We locally call them TABILI . Ancestors belived that if you see one it will bring you luck and good harvest. I'm kinda scared of them but it seems like they don't bite. Nice one @papa-pepper
Some nice shiny blue on the little guy!

Cool pics you've got there. Am not a fan of reptiles though, especially this one which we call Alayọnbẹrẹ in native Yoruba Language. I am totally scared of that species of lizards by the way.
these pictures remind me of the fact that nature is the best designer :)
Love the little skinks. Blue tails are really cool. These guys really know how to make a fashion statement.
Great pics mate, as always.

Magnificent photos. I can not imagine if this is a little photo, how much would you do if you were not busy. Good luck to you and love.

I'd forgotten all about skinks! You truly are living in an interesting place where nature is concerned. Only started following you about a week ago, and there's already tons of animal variety.
