So, I've seen this thing on steemit in my travels called caturday and I'm seriously pushed for time today to be able to finish the next post in my Lanzarote travel series. So instead, I thought I'd share some pictures of my friends cat Buffy, that I have been looking after over the last ten days.
She is a game old bird at 13 years of age and has hit that point in a cat's life where all she is really interested in is food and cuddles. Buffy goes nuts for a tickle under the chin and likes to get right up in your face but luckily doesn't have bad breath.
I grew up with cats as a child, so it has been a really nice chore to drive down to my friends house each day and spend a few hours with Buffy. We spent most of this afternoon together either sitting in the sun in the garden or watching the snooker on the television. I had forgotten how great cats are as companions and I even forgot, for a moment, about my deadlines.
It has been repeatedly shown that having a cat can help reduce stress as well as provide many other psychological benefits says Igor Purlantov. Having a cat can also reduce anxiety as simply petting a cat has been shown to be soothing and calming.
There you go! The experts say it's good for your health to hang out with a kitty. I don't know this Igor Purlantov guy, but it sounds like he's hit the nail on the head with this one

Cats and dogs--grew up with them, always had one or the other (usually both) around. The house never seemed complete without a pet, at least one. I can't imagine buying a pet, with so many wanting homes. Yes, petting a cat is relaxing. And a dog. Or two.
I don't know who's having more fun in the pictures--you or Buffy. I can almost hear her purring....
Ha ha. I think I was loving it more to be completely honest. I can't have pets in my flat block and would love to have a cat so much. Buffy was purring away here you are right, but if there was such a thing as a human purr I would have rumbling away to myself ;-)
Awwww... Buffy seems to be enjoying the attention... Haha - that last pic and her expression - kitties are great with the expression! :D
Yeah, it was an awesome little cat-sitting holiday. My friend has come back now so no more daily cat bothering for me :-(
Ha ha, yeah Buffy has awesome stink-face. Like when she's a bit annoyed you can just tell. Thanks for your comment and cat appreciation vote ;-) @ackhoo
What a fun looking companion, our animal friends do find a way to bring out the best in us.
For sure @abmakko. Pet animals have an inbuilt sense I think of what your mood is and they know how to react to help. Cat's for me always know how to chill me out when I'm stressed :-) Thanks for your comment and cat appreciation vote ;-)
Aw...look at that face! Buffy is adorable. You are so nice to spend time with her and I know she looks forward to your daily visits. Cats are the best! : )

I'm gonna go over there anyway in the next few days to see my friend... but really to see Buffy ;-) Thanks for your comment and cat appreciation vote @whatisnew ;-)
Buffy is going to miss you! Happy to hear that you will be seeing her again in a few days. Seeing your friend is a good excuse to see Buffy. LOL! : )
