Looks like a young Wedgetail. They are a beautiful bird and get very large in maturity. It will darken as it matures through successive moults until it takes on the almost black colouration of the adult birds.

Technically golden eagles are not found in Australia. This is a wedge tailed eagle. Largest raptor found in Australia.
It certainly is a Wedgie, and a great photo of one too.

Except for the black face and white beak. In fact, does not look like it at all. And they are not found in Australia, this is a wedgetail.

So i just learnt an aussy word.. Wedgetail,makes sense!
