Gobble Gobble!

I was driving home from work today and this flock of turkeys crosses the road right in a residential neighborhood. It's not unusual to see these birds around this area but, usually you run into them in the wooded areas and not right in the street on somebody's front yard. It's always fun to see wildlife so close to me though.

With thanksgiving just around the corner, maybe the turkeys have caught wind that people will be out hunting them, so they decided to change things up.

A Group of Turkeys is Called a “Rafter” A group of turkeys is technically called a “rafter”, though they are often incorrectly referred to as a “gobble” or simply a “flock”.

I've been bit by a momma hen and a momma cow before. I'm going to assume a momma turkey is somewhere in between

This is a very beautiful scene. Looks pretty bird.

The way you excited to see flock of Turkey reveals your love with animal and birds. Majority of people love animals. We want to see animal around us but at the safe passage. Unfortunately road is not the safe passage. Great thing is Flock of Turkey was walking away from the road. Great capture. keep chilling @broncnutz

Ahh.. Turkeys.. Those birds can make a lot of noise..

Watch them try that shit in November... Everybody’s feeling real slick until that month where you get rekt.

I have never eaten a wild turkey....I wonder if they are any good.

Probably less stressed out than the factory farmed ones don’t you think? No real predators out west west lol

The turkey is a large bird in the genus Meleagris, which is native to the Americas. One species, Meleagris gallopavo (commonly known as the domestic turkey or wild turkey), is native to the forests of North America, mainly Mexico and the United States. The other living species is Meleagris ocellata or the ocellated turkey, native to the forests of the Yucatán Peninsula.[1] Males of both turkey species have a distinctive fleshy wattle or protuberance that hangs from the top of the beak (called a snood). They are among the largest birds in their ranges. As in many galliformes, the male is larger and much more colorful than the female. Great photography sir.
