They are very neat! We see them periodically around here and I always make sure to let them be, or move them if they’re in danger of getting squished. (I do that for all our local snakes except the poisonous ones — rattlers — and only because I don’t want to get bit myself.) Snakes do a great service for us with the rodent population. The more of them are around the better, IMHO.
