I couple years back, on my journeys throughout the county I live in, I was traveling down a back country road. I happened across a large dog, or so I thought, walking down the side of the road. From a distance it appeared to be a Husky or Sled dog. As I got closer and could see more detail, I began to question my own eyes.
Dog or Wolf Perhaps!?
Now in my area stray dogs are a dime a dozen, folks from down Houston a way will think nothing of dropping off a pet that has worn out it welcome on a back road in our area, usually these dogs are in poor shape, mangy or injured from being left to fend for them selves. This particular animal seem to be in good shape. I knew that it wasn't a coyote, much to big and too dark for the yotes around our parts, they are also plenty of those around too.
The strange part is that when I got closer, he or she didn't run away, they were very wary of my presence though. I pulled up next to it and it did start to back track a little , but never darted off like a wild coyote would, in fact once it made eye contact with me it would not lower it's gaze. It did stop and look at me before turning back in the direction it was traveling from. I snapped a couple of pic and went on my way, it was quite a ways out in the National Forest so there were no homes in the area to stop and ask if anyone was missing a pet.
I have never heard of any wolves in my area in the wild.
So anyway, here are the photos!
What do you guys think, Dog or Wolf?

If they are common in your area (you did not specify where exactly this was) i would be on wolf
I've been leaning towards wolf as well, that face just screams wolf!
Yes it is a wolf, I have a friend who raises them in oklahoma.
That's what I thought too, thanks for the confirmation!
