England is phasing in the use of cameras in slaughterhouses to crack down on animal abuse. #think

What if everyone had to slaughter or watch the slaughter of their food? Might fewer people eat animals? Might animals being slaughtered be treated better? Might we see how similar they react to a human during the process?

Food for thought.

You do make a difference in stopping the torture of other living beings. Please consider what you can do to help. I encourage you to consider alternate food sources. But, even if you eat meat, please consider what you can to do to ensure the animals are not tortured on their way to your plate.

Thank you for your time.

Best wishes,
Lisa

Its so easy to be ignorant , go to a supermarket buy nicely decorated meat and almost forget that it was a living being. Thanks for the reminder. I changed to organic food, might take the next step soon to be a vegetarian

Exactly! Best wishes with your journey. Let us know if we can help.

Good post, thank you. Another thing to consider is how many murderers were butchers: killing animals brutalises the slaughterer too. Katharine Knight in Australia literally butchered her boyfriend! Skinned him. She worked in a slaughter house.

Wow, I had no idea!

I couldn't agree more!

Great

Thank you for sharing this, @lisachandler! Unfortunately, animal abuse is a reality in today's food system. The good news is that there are many conscious people who are willing to change habits that they have forged for years to support animal welfare. We recently started our @letsteamup project, in which anyone can contribute to help animals in distress through Steemit... so we would be very happy to hear from you and know what you think about our initiative. We will keep an eye on your next posts!

Great idea, thanks for sharing!
