Squirrely Adventure

During My travels, I've had occasion to visit many parks on the East side of the the Blueridge Mountains.
I'd spend much time in parks, relaxing, recharging, and working on various projects I could do on the road.
One day I was at the Blue Bird Springs park in Homassassa Fl. , the Manatee capital of the world from what they say, sitting at a picnic table, working on some Poetry, organizing and tweaking some Poems I had written, enjoying a chicken tender sub from a local grocery, when I was approached by a squirrel who was curious as to what I was eating.
So it started Me wondering, "do squirrels eat bread?", I broke off a hunk of sub-roll and tossed it on the ground.
At first the squirrel ran off, but not to far, then his curiosity got the better of him and he slowly walked over to investigate what I had tossed on then ground.
He sniffed at it, moved it with his nose a little, grabbed it with both hands, brought it to his nose, sniffed it again, took a couple nibbles, decided it was good, and ran with it.
He clenched the piece of bread in his mouth and ran full throttle to the tree that was shading the picnic table I was using, clenching the bread in both hands again he started twirling it like child excited about a new toy, then started munching.
The squirrel devoured the hunk of sub-roll, spinning it with his hand like he was eating corn on the cob, until it was gone.
He looked around, ran back to the spot he found the bread, sat up and looked at Me, by this time he had peaked the interest of a couple other squirrels who had come down from the tree to investigate as-well, so I tore off a few more hunks of sub-roll and tossed them to the ground.
The first squirrel got excited, he instantly knew what it was, grabbed a hunk and ran back to the tree and began twirling the bread like he was performing, it didn't take long for the other two squirrels to realize things were all good, grabbed a hunk each and ran off.
Needless to say the rest of My sub-roll got broken up into pieces and tossed to the ground, what excited follies these squirrels performed grabbing hunks of sub-roll, taking them up the tree and filling their bellies.
Being such a fun little event to witness, I knew there was a Poem in it somewhere.
Breaking Hunks of Bread
Little squirrelies dancing
Fading sunlight
Running all around
Searching for a bite
Breaking hunks of bread
Squirrelies new delight
Tossing bits and pieces
Food for the night
With a full tummy
They'll go to bed
With visions of white bread
Dancing in their head
Get up i n the morning
Hope to find more
But the bread man left
To become squirrely lore
