I'VE NEVER DONE THIS IN ARKANSAS!!!!

in #animals5 years ago

I'd heard it could be done, but I'd never had the opportunity.

I spent the night just outside of Little Rock last night, gone for work. Lord willing I'll be back with the family on the homestead later today, but leaving does has it's benefits. Among the lizards that can be found in the state are some that have been naturalized here, like the Mediterranean Gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus). I've found these in Texas, Florida, and also Louisiana, but never in Arkansas... until last night. I was super excited to find a few crawling on the outside walls of the hotel, and managed to catch three out of four. Not too bad, considering I'm a bit rusty. Enjoy the photos.

Wow I haven't seen those yet either yet here in Arkansas. I hope someday I'll find some too!

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to actually encounter some. I knew that they were around, but it's still exciting to see!

Cool little guys! Too bad you can't take a few home for the little peppers, I'm sure they would like them!

We just set up a new invasive species exhibit with these guys in it! They are in Virginia now, but really just confined to the largest cities.

HEY!!!! I haven't seen you in a bit. How have you been? How's that family?

Doing well! Still hanging around and I SWEAR I will post again someday soon!
