IN SEARCH OF THE CRICKET FROG

in #animals7 years ago

It's a good thing that I've got help, or I might never achieve some goals.

Today I made a quest for myself and a few of the @little-peppers. The goal was to locate a Cricket Frog. I've seen a few frogs already this year and had been hearing the Cricket Frogs for a few days. Today, though, I wanted to find and photograph one. At the first pond, we had no luck, although we did locate a Leopard Frog.

It was at the second pond that Red-Pepper saw one of the tiny frogs jump in, and soon she was reaching deep into the pond to retrieve the creature. Thankfully, that little girl has got some skills and has been trained well. Sure enough, her efforts were not in vain!

Thanks to Red-Pepper locating and capturing a Cricket Frog, I now had the opportunity to photograph one. Interestingly enough, while I was photographing this one, she found another one, who also shows up in the photos below. Thanks Red-Pepper!

Actually, we just photographed them. My family does not destroy frogs.

I am not saying your family does it, all I am saying that we are not concerned about nature.

Wow... The littel girl has really taken after her Dad. I wish i could also go hunting here in Nigeria. Wondeful @papa-pepper. Since i couldn't hunt, i decided to create a STEMIT home for the less privilege, orphans, old and hanicarps. I believe STEEMIT can give them better lives

I agree! Good work!

A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective

hello @papa-pepper really nayural seace here love this funy photography thanks for shareing bneautifull click

@papa-pepper, you do love frogs surely. I'm not a fan of them but this cricket frog looks so fragile and so appeals to me. But, why are they called cricket frogs? I was stunned to see you mention leopard frogs, why that name? I hope we don't have elephant frogs though😁😁

Cricket frogs are small, so maybe that is where the name comes from. The leopard frogs have spots.

@papa-pepper and his numerous animals. Looks so big in the normal picture and tiny in the hand. Thanks to Red pepper for the support. Hahah

Yes, she is very helpful for Papa!

You have found many frogs with very clear pictures, great. Do you think that the last frogs are male and female? both show different colors.

They come in a variety of colors and the color morph is not a sign of a certain sex.

I see, the colors also similar with the leaf or wood they live.

Awwwn that last picture is jst precious

@papa-pepper it's been long I saw your update, I really miss reading your article. Nice photography skill. Thanks for sharing

You all are so adventurous.. the little one seemed to enjoy a lot for accomplishing her mission. Photographs were very nice.

Wow!!!
What a good girl she is
She is well trained and brilliant
We most times confuse toad to be frog here
Your effort was not in vain, a result of your resolute and great upbringing

Hahahaha, papa with another stuff..... Hope you found it

Wow.. your child is very brave to hold the frog and look smiling sweet, may your family always healthy @papa-pepper😊

Some great macro photos here. My son and I like to go frog exploring also, well any kind of reptile. LOL Thanks for sharing! @journeyfreedom

So tiny! Are they indigenous to only some parts of the states? I have never heard of one! Good you have some good help!

your child is very brave @papa-pepper, I am amused to stun a toad, but your child looks like it

The opening phrase is interesting, so it makes me interested to read the next sentence.

I appreciate the effort of the little girl looking for a toad, and she was successful. May he always succeed in many ways.

Thanks @papa-pepper have sharing the post.

Cool! I'm glad that you liked it!

I never heard of a cricket frog and its so small thanks you for the pictures. We all need a little help now and agian and its lovely to see you outside enjoying life with the kids and not stuck in the house playing video games keep it that way.

Yeah, these are the activities that I never grew out of.

Thats good to hear, way to go getting the kids involved. Thats how its going to be for me when I finally have kids outside activities

Yaaay thats so nice. She is so skilled and brave. Otherwise its not that easy to catch a frog.
Nice photography as well but i am here to praise redpepper more 😍

Never knew before now that they are various names given to frog. Learnt something new from your post, cricket frog and leopard frog. I used to call them by the name frog. When I see one someday, I can be able to identify it and also teach the person.
Red-Pepper is really brave

to get something we have to work hard, your son has worked hard to get a frog child in the pool, and the result is amazing, a cute toad

Really a lucky girl,,, so cute and lucky,,,
Its a small frog,,, im never seen this before,,,
Its so small thats why just a lucky girl can find and calling the other frog,,, :)
Btw, you and a lucky girl has done a great teamwork,,, im so apreciated that,, :)

Very nice sequence. Loved the whole story. Bless you and your kid for getting the frog couple together.

My vote is urs. Good luck.

a good contest.

Good of such wood, such a splinter. Despite not having strong colors is a very peculiar frog.

A very interesting experience and you get a very natural photography, very funny to see the frog find his friend, I think they are talking about something @papa-pepper.

@papa-pepper, I like the fact that you train a child the way she should go. The photographs are splendid and she is surely a good girl.

Thank you for this good post.

@stevenmosoes

Awe! This is great! What a way to spend part of the day 💖💜💙💚💛

Seems red- pepper is also fond of wild life.
Nice photograph @papa- pepper

I’ve always loved frogs. Loved to catch them as a kid...

Me too, and I never grew out of it!

I think I have heard those also called peeper frogs. There is a pond back behind us and we hear them in that direction, but we have also found them on trees.

Spring Peepers are a different kind of frog, and are actually a tree frog.

Check this post for more info on them: https://steemit.com/animals/@little-peppers/spring-peeper-little-peppers-field-guide-to-wisconsin-reptiles-and-amphibians

Thats sweet! I had no idea. Thank you. I love spring peepers!

Cool little frog. I learned about a new world traveler.

These little guys are so cute. They are about the same size as some of our little tree frogs. Kudos to Red-Pepper for finding not one but two frogs!

Yeah, she did a great job!
