I absolutely adore manatees. I have been lucky enough to see them in the wild multiple times. My first time was at Weeki Wachee Springs and I saw a couple pass while I was paddle boarding. The second time I visited Weeki Wachee I was lucky enough to snorkel with one! I kept plenty of distance not to disturb it, but it was eating the sea-grass in the river.
This photo was taken at The Manatee Viewing Center. Unfortunately while I was there, the manatees were too far away to get good photos, but there were many there. This is also a great place to spot sharks and manta-rays. Both the sharks and the rays would jump out of the water!
With my love of manatees, I adopted one from Save the Manatee Club. Her name is Elsie and she frequents the Tampa Bay at the Manatee viewing center. Hopefully one day I will be able to find her!
