An additional room added on to the cage.

They just love to go in and out of their new dust bath room. Look how much they enjoy it.

I also built them a quail tractor in the garden.

Where I'll keep the more aggressive males.

Finally started a meal worm bin for food.

It's experimental — I haven't found anyone using spring oats. I don't know why though because the spring oats are way cheaper.

The quail like to eat them too!

I've also been experimenting with this bathtub composter — hoping to have worms and black soldier fly larvae populate it for another source of free food for the quail. After sharing my photo and video in BSFL group they have informed me that these are likely some strange beetle that might just work. They our devouring meat right down to the bone and dairy, things I don't normally put into my other compost operations.

I believe these are the adults and should be a great protein source for the quail.

It won't be long now until I get to try eating quail meat. They should also start producing some eggs for us any day now. At this point I'm very skeptical if it's all worth the time and of course the cost we've had to spend on feed. Hopefully these 2 additional experimental projects work out and we can really cut back on feed costs in the future.

Do have any tips or ideas for us?

If you do please share them with us.
