I think Option 1. Look at the shape and length of his snout compared to hers, then compared to other pictures of feral hogs. That first picture looks similar to your male "potbelly" the big difference I see is that the picture there appears to have a thicker hair.
So yea I still think option 1, maybe this is why they were free! Time will also tell because if he is feral theres a good chance he'll get bigger. Is he aggressive to you or any of the other peppers?
