In Manchester, a beekeeper connected his bees with the internet. He attached small computer chips on their bodies using super glue. The task of e-tagging a bee takes time and practice, according to the beekeeper. The benefits of this technology are that it lets beekeeper count bees as they fly in and out of the hive. He can better track behavior, timing, and working habits of each individual bee. Moreover, it also helps the beekeeper learn more about bees and their health. Yet, he applied this technology on a half dozen of bees, and in coming months it will be applied to thousands.
