Hello everybody. Today, I want to talk about animes, because it is one of my hobbies. First, I want to make an introduction about how I star to watch them. However, in the future, I will post about my opinion of some that I have seen. Now days, there are many animes, and many genres. For that reason, I do not believe that I could see all of them.

Let’s start, that happened a long time ago when I was a child. At that time, my family lived in my grandmother’s house, and my parents worked all day. After school, I shared a lot with my grandmother. She was a very sentimental person and she liked romantic stories and slice of life stories; and although, she liked stories full of fantasy and magic, despite her age she liked Shojo very much. It proves that people can love animes regardless of their age.

At that time, in the 80s, it broadcast on television Mahou shoujo Lalabel (1980), Candy Candy (1976) and Hana no Ko Lunlun (1979) which were my grandmother favorite animes, and I watched them with her. I also watched some that I liked it such as Mazinger Z (1972) and Mach GoGoGo (1967), also known Speed Racer.

Due to the influence of my grandmother, in my adolescence I continued to enjoy the genre Shojo, and of course I like Shonen too. By this time, I watched Saint Seiya (1986), Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (1992), Pokemon (1997), Digimon Adventure (1999) and Cardcaptor Sakura (1998). This was in the 90's. After 2000, I do not remember watching animes again, until after 2010.

Around 2013, I read an article on the internet that reminded me all those old programs that were shown in the 80s and 90s. Therefore, I looked for them, and I found an old and interesting one that I did not see in that times called Marmalade Boy (1994), I watched it, and I liked it. After that, I found that Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon had a remake called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal (2014). I saw both versions.

One day, I was playing an online game MMORPG anime style called Grand Fantasy. The guild leader talked about animes and I took the opportunity to tell my experience. After that, he recommended me some new animes. Therefore, I started to watch new animes and to learn more about this topic. I have seen many that I liked, and some that bored me, but it has been enough to become a hobby.

To complement the information on the genres, I took this information from Wikipedia.
Note: Although the information was taken from this page I made some small modifications to talk about only the animes and genres that I have seen in these years.

Anime are often classified by target demographic, including childrens' (子供 kodomo), girls' (少女 shōjo), boys' (少年 shōnen) and a diverse range of genres targeting an adult audience. Shoujo and shounen anime sometimes contain elements popular with children of both sexes in an attempt to gain crossover appeal. Adult anime may feature a slower pace or greater plot complexity that younger audiences typically find unappealing, as well as adult themes and situations. A subset of adult anime works featuring pornographic elements are labeled "R18" in Japan, and are internationally known as hentai (originating from pervert (変態 hentai). By contrast, some anime subgenres incorporate ecchi, sexual themes or undertones without depictions of sexual intercourse, as typified in the comedic or harem genres; due to its popularity among adolescent and adult anime enthusiasts, the inclusion of such elements is considered a form of fan service

Demographic Genres

Shōnen= Overlord (2015) and Servamp (2016).

Shōjo= Natsume Yuujinchou (2008) and Yahari Ore no Seishun love comedy wa Machigatteiru (2013).

Seinen= It is like shonen, but for an adult audience. Kuzu no Honkai (2017).

Josei= It is like shojo, but for an adult audience.

Thematic Genres

Anime's genre classification is different from other types of animation and does not lend itself to simple identity.

Harem: in anime and manga is an emphasis on polygamous or love triangle relationships characterized by a protagonist surrounded amorously by three or more members of either the same and/or opposing gender, sex, and/or love interests, such as Strike the Blood (2013) and Masamune-kun no Revenge (2017).

Reverse Harem: like Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge (2006) and Watashi ga Motete Dousunda (2016).

Mahō shōjo also known as Magical girl: like Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon.

Mecha: like Mazinger Z.

Nekketsu: like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Pokémon, Bleach.

Spokon: like Free! (2013) and Kuroko no Basuke (2012)

I hope this brief information has been of your interest. Soon, I will be commenting on some of these animes. I accept comments and suggestions. Here, I leave the link of the page that I use to know about animes and seasons myanimelist.
