[First Impression] “Sora yori mo Tooi Basho” Winter Anime 2018 – Girls First Tour? To Antartica??

To start off the Winter 2018 Anime Season, we have been greeted by Overlord Season 2, Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan and so on. However I feel like I interested with this anime titled as "Sora yori mo Tooi Basho" or A Place Further Than The Universe.

• The synopsis

Mari Tamaki is a girl in her second year of high school who wants to make the most out of her youth but is usually too afraid to do so. One day, she meets Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl who has been saving up to travel to Antarctica to search for her missing mother. Joined by two other girls, Hinata Miyake and Yuzuki Shiraishi, Mari and Shirase set forth on a cruiser ship bound for the Antarctic.

• The first impression

The moment you start to watch it, you may find something familiar. The voice. Inori Minase made a comeback with another adventure genre. She voiced Chito for Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (Girls Last Tour) but that’s for the "last tour". Now, she is now in for the "first tour" and it’s not an ordinary place but it is Antartica, the south pole of the Earth!

The voice actors line up is quite impressive, with Inori Minase, Kana Hanazawa, Saori Hayami & Yuka Iguchi. Madhouse really want to come in big for this winter.

The unique selling point in this anime is, a group of girls went to Antarctica. Isn't that interesting?

• ^ For some reason, i want to do like that too.

The characters looks lively and rich of expression. For the first episode, there are only 2 of the main character made their appearance and they already hooked me to watch the next episode.

Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl who has been saving up to travel to Antarctica to search for her missing mother.

For visual, the animation looks very fluid and beautiful. The art is modern style anime (or maybe digital?) that gives refreshing and promising looks.

Anyway this scene really cracked me up. The way they want to take a photo of Mount Fuji is funny and neutral.

And also, i can totally relate this with myself as a student.

• ^ Its feel so real.

Anyway remember when there is new season coming, the 3-episode rule must be applied! However i have high expectation on this series.
