Blend S was probably one of my favorite shows of the season. This show blend perfectly between slice of life, comedy and romance. From sadistic to tsundere, you can get it from this café.
- What is Blend S?
High school girl Maika Sakuranomiya has trouble finding a part-time job because of how scary she looks when smiling. However, she is scouted one day by an Italian man who is also the manager of Stile, a café where its waitresses are given unique traits such as tsundere and younger sister. Maika is given a sadist trait because of her looks and has to adopt a dominant and cruel persona when servicing customers, particularly masochist ones.

- The Story
If you are familiar with Working!!, then you should know how the story works. Its feel the same atmosphere as it has the same genre while delivering a different plot. Both are restaurant based anime. In Blend S, the restaurant itself is a café that’s offer its waitresses an unique traits such as tsundere, younger sister and sadistic trait. The comedy and romances give relaxing and energy at the same time to the viewers. If you searching for comedy, this is indeed the right anime you should watch. I laughed out loud every time they make a joke.
- The Character
The character development are explained well in each episode. They grew up very quickly and the chemistry between them are great. Each character has a rich of personality.

I love seeing those two couples of how they interacting, their shyness and their effort to get them much closer with each other. Maika’s manager, Dino keeps trying to closer their gap with Maika is indeed funny and it makes you want to cheer for them to not give up. Don’t forget about Kaho and Akizuki, their ship is quite interesting. The show also explained how they both met. They both struggles with their weakness while sharing the same interest. Both are nerds. Both are lovely and adorable couples. However, the show didn’t show enough about Miu Amano and Hideri Kanzaki.
- The music

The opening is a meme. It’s get trending on internet for a while. The opening sequence show a big letter of S, showing the unique trait of each character. Smile! Sweet! Sister! Sadistic! Surprise! Service!. The music shows very well how colorful and lively of that show.

For ending, it show of how Maika wants to travel around the world with her friends to discover a new things and its uniqueness. Maika loves everything that other than Japanese.
- Overall
This show deserves another season. It would be interesting to continue to show the development of between those two couples. Either way, Blend S is just another anime with slice of life. It’s funny and enjoyable.
