RE: First anime review: Sakamoto desu ga?

in #anime8 years ago

This site is full of sycophants. There is no room for anyone to have a different view than the status quo which is pump pump pump the hype. If anyone says something critical of this, they are branded a whiner or envious or a hater.

It is impossible for there to be a healthy debate, because those that have the power can essentially vote up things they want others to hear and not vote for things they don't want others to hear. The minnows who don't want to rock the boat because they want to get crumbs from the whales don't say anything, and if they do, they aren't rewarded for it, so why bother?

How can so many people ignore this? This ignoring of the obvious gives users the impression that this platform is not on solid ground, because if the platform was solid it could take criticism and respond with good arguments to counteract the criticism. Instead, dissenting views are simply not upvoted by whales and the conversation dies on the vine.

So many here are here to make a quick buck and don't give a darn about the long term future of this concept. This is why I am so adamant about this poster proving their story. Because if they keep hiding behind excuses it does more harm than good to the site.

FWIW, I've been involved with anime/manga since the late 70s, and started the first anime club at my university in the San Francisco bay area in the late 80s. Went to some of the earliest anime conventions in the USA, generally before they were strictly anime conventions and were more just anime being played 24 hours a day at other conventions. Yeah, I was one of those guys sleeping in the anime room trying to watch every episode of Lupin III until my eyes fell out of my head.

Anyway, I digress.
