I remember one evening scrolling through Facebook as usual when i came across a post by @grantcardone of how he had discovered a new website that can pay you for posting and commenting!
I have followed @grantcadone on almost all social networks,do not ask me why i follow him.....just go and follow him period hehehe.
My Story!
I have been someone who looks for opportunities and boom i come across Uncle G's post,in fact he had written the post on Linkedin and shared it on Facebook. I checked out the post and boom,i signed up and within 2 hours my account was approved!
I had all this excitement of how i will start making money from posting great content and even commenting.I got approved and got stuck on what to do next.
I read the welcome page and a FAQ(which i have realized most people don't! So absurd for them), i had a pile of info then i don't remember why i did not make my intro post!!! I went back to my lazy comfort zone.
You cannot believe that i made my introduceyourself post almost a month later after getting another explanation from @jerrybanfield through his Facebook Ad!
I was so excited and garnered ll the confidence i had and made my first post after reading for all the advice on how to make your introduceyourself post and guess how much it earned....a whooping 0.57$

I want to remind you that my post made 0.79$ and i watched it in tears drop to the final payout of 0.57$ hahhahaha.
I made many friends from that post who are still my friends like @hiroyamagishi,most of the guys guess dropped out!!!
I also remember that post was the birth of the Uganda tag since i am Ugandan.I was and is that intelligent to use the Uganda tag!
The Steemit Journey Starts...!!
I just checked through my post history and i did make my second post a week later,damn i was patient! I also checked that post and it was awesome and it earned 0.03 $

I have just read that post and i selected this quote,am shocked by mindset then...!!!!
I have been here for a short time so i can guess it can take for you like may be 6(six) months(not sure about this time frame,an authoritative author should help us on this time range) to be noticed in the community only if you are active and genuinely posting good stuff,commenting and replying to other people's posts.
I had love for Steemit from Day one..!!!! You need to check that post and please do not waste time upvoting it!

Guys a small piece of advice, always have a long term mindset if you want to succeed in any endeavor you partake in .
I remember making more posts and shit was tight and i stumbled on a post about commenting,boom i began commenting then magic happened!

I went on a commenting spree and then i commented on one of @surpassinggoogle's posts and i earned a considerable amount of $....which was more than my 2 months of posting!!

It was this same time of commenting that i met @stepehnkendal and @starkerz ...these have been my great supporters too.These Steemit Legends initiated the promo-steem tags and boom.
I promised these guys in the comments that i will start promoting Steemit in Uganda and guess what....i am still promoting Steemit in Uganda up-to today...I kept to my word.

I have benefited obviously financially,Steemit got me at a time when shit was tight on me,i had just quit on a volunteering gig four months prior.I have always looked for better ways of life and i stumbled or no,Steemit stumbled on me .
The money i have earned from Steemit in this one year is i guess more than the money 3 average graduates earn in a year!! The money we earn here is 3 times the amount an average employer earns here in Uganda.The money increases to 7 times when the prices are really great like it did in November to early January!
